Dispatcher
Our dispatch professionals work in a centralized location coordinating and managing the delivery of ground-transported cargo. They spend part of their days negotiating the best rates with vendors, figuring out the most cost-effective delivery options with customers and the most efficient routes with drivers. They also fulfill an administrative role by filing the appropriate paperwork, monitoring driver progress, processing and tracking orders, managing driver concerns, tracking hours of service and so much more. Every day is fast paced and no two days are the same.
Skills/Qualifications

Broker Agent
We are looking for a service-minded Freight Broker to act as a liaison between our customers and freight carriers. The Freight Broker will secure new accounts, expedite the sharing of information and documentation between customers and carriers, and communicate with dispatchers and drivers to track the status of loads. You will negotiate contracts with carriers in a manner that optimizes profits.
To ensure success in this position you need maintain current knowledge of freight carrier services, and be effective in attracting new customers and ensuring customer retention. Top applicants are customer-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

OTR Truck Drivers
Griffin Transportation in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking Midwest and OTR drivers. The fundamental responsibility of the Over the Road Driver is to maneuver several tractor-trailer combinations for stretched duration of time, utilizing Omnitracs to transport dry van goods from one location to another throughout the mid-west and long distance over the road routes for our customers, between yards and/or work sites, at company/customer facilities in a punctual, efficient and timely manner. Must ensure that all necessary shipping credentials/bill of lading are in order. Maintain all essential paperwork for pick up/delivery. The driver must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) in performing his/her duties.
